OCL principal Raj Chawla provided coaching for my senior staff person and me. We were in a difficult situation. At that time, our previous close relationship had been compromised by a serious lack of trust on both our parts, and each of us was profoundly disappointed by both the actions and attitudes of the other. OCL established a neutral environment for our meeting, away from either of our offices. More importantly, they created a "safe" environment for us by clearly explaining their methodology, providing their assessment of our situation.

They helped us get beyond our present problems by learning new ways of working together to reduce the likelihood of the problems from recurring. They helped us to establish a set of processes that are helping us rebuild our lost trust.

How We Do It

COACHING

We cannot expect to create a different or new future with the same actions, behaviors, and habits that created the present. The best that can be hoped for is a future that is similar to the present. For a new future to emerge we must practice different actions, behaviors and habits. Coaching allows for individuals, groups, and entire organizations to create new futures.

The OCL Group specializes in organizational and group coaching, focusing not only on the individual, but on the individual as part of a larger system of habits, values and beliefs. We work with you to create a culture in which groups are aware and capable of operating.

As organizations seek to become learning organizations and workers seek to become knowledge workers, coaching creates the possibility for this transformation to occur. Through coaching, individuals engage in "double-loop" learning and see how they contribute to both the success and the challenges in their work environment. Individuals understand the value of being learners and come together to form communities of learning. Through coaching, teams take on new practices that enable them to be more successful than they might have previously imagined. They understand the ways they can sabotage their own success. Through coaching, organizations introduce new conversations into their work culture so that new futures can be created. This new future can result in capturing new markets, generating new revenue streams, revealing hidden assets, retaining talented staff, and creating a culture of accountability and results.
